#chestertweets website launches
So, #chestertweets has finally launched. Our website’s live and going great guns, and we’re building a brilliant community of people who’ve signed up to it. And our Facebook page and Twitter feed are generating more followers and fans every day, who use us to find the best businesses in Chester and create a buzz about the city.
We’re using this blog to tell you a bit more about the people behind the business. #chestertweets is Steve Jones of Steve Jones Social Media and Nick Pagan of Nick Pagan Copywriting, and we’ve come together under the #chestertweets name to offer businesses social media and content marketing help, and let the people of Chester find the city’s best businesses in one handy place.
The idea was Steve’s, and he created the #chestertweets hashtag that’s now become our company name. He noticed there was nowhere for the people of Chester to search for and recommend businesses to each other. He’d seen that other businesses and agencies were tweeting about Chester and the odd recommendation was offered but there was no specific site or hashtag anyone could check that fitted the bill.
And so the #chestertweets hashtag was born, quickly followed by the #chesterhour one that takes place every Tuesday evening from 8-9pm. From the feedback given and the popularity of both hashtags, Steve quickly realised he could add to the idea and build a website with a social media directory, professionally written business features, offers and event listings, along with social media marketing for businesses.
Steve then met Nick again at a networking meeting, after first meeting many years ago at a similar event. They went for coffee and had a good catch up, realised they got on like a house on fire, and could work together to make #chestertweets a success. Now they’ve added to their team and have a graphic designer, web designer and photographer working with them too.
