The Countess of Chester Charity

The Countess Charity works with the local community, corporates and grant-making trusts to raise money for over 80 funds across the hospital.

The Countess of Chester Charity is one of more than 300 registered charities in the UK associated with NHS hospitals or organisations. Together these charities contribute £400million each year to patient care.

Their aim is not to fund patient care but to enhance and improve it, providing grants for projects that are over and above those served by government funding.

Any help and support The Countess Charity can give to assist patient care are always appreciated by their clinical colleagues. In 2017/18 with help from companies these are just some of the things The Countess Charity was able to provide; a new ultrasound breast scanner, 2 kidney dialysis machines, 75 patient wheelchairs, 2 specialised rehabilitation chair beds for the intensive care unit plus much more.

Over the next 12 months, they want to provide patients at the Countess with MORE. They are working on raising £192,000 for the Memory Lane Project, which aims are to enhance the environment onwards 50/51 that specialise in care for the elderly.

To provide a CPEX Treadmill for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department which will assists in making accurate and reliable metabolic measurements for any patients who are being treated by the team at a cost of £40,000.

They will be hosting the annual Chester Duck Race from which they want to raise £20,000 for additional specialist neonatal equipment. These are just a few of the projects that The Countess Charity are looking for assistance with from local companies.
