Colleagues, friends and supporters are urged to take a healthy step into Spring with DSN’s ‘Big Step Challenge’.
By completing just the recommended 10,000 steps a day. The participants from across Cheshire, Flintshire and Wrexham can be in with a chance of winning one of two Garmin smartwatches.
Pedometers will be handed out to participants and a £10 donation to take part will go to help DSN’s many initiatives. It runs throughout the year for people with sensory loss in Cheshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.
The four-week challenge will start on Monday, February 18, says coordinator Erica Jones.
Fundraiser Erica added: “This is a great challenge for people to step forward from January into their 2019 fitness goals. Walking has so many benefits for both body and mind, so we hope that in taking part people can feel good about helping a charity too.”
Last year, Mike from Chester walked the equivalent of five marathons – around 280,000 steps in total throughout the four-week challenge.
